Gists: Uruan Transition Chairman Dedicates First Son

The Transition Chairman of Uruan LGA, Rt. Hon Anthony Akan and wife on Sunday April 3rd took their son, David Akan to church for a dedication and thanksgiving service at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

Present at occasion were; The State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel and wife, The Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo, Former Deputy Governor, Mrs. Valerie Ebe, state PDP chairman, Mr. Paul Ekpo, The Wife of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Speaker, Dr. Mrs.Uduak Onofiok Luke, Senator Bassey Albert, Hon Mike Enyong, Member Representating Uyo Federal Constituency, The Deputy speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Rt. Hon Mrs Felicia Bassey, The Deputy House Leader of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Aniekan Bassey, The Honourable Commissioner for Rural development, Rt. Hon. Ekong Sampson, The Former governorship candidate of PDP, Rt. Hon. Okpolupm Ette, family, friends and host of other dignitaries.

Drawing his text from John 20 : 19 – 31, the Parish Priest, Very Rev Fr Emmanuel Eting admonished Christians to shun counterfeit miracles, remain blameless and work out their salvation.

Rt. Hon. Tony Akan took his turn to appreciate God for the gift of a son, describing it as a timely gift. He said that God came to their aid when they needed a son and today they are blessed with their beloved son, David.

Speaking also, the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel appreciated God for the Akan family and prayed for divine mercy on Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria.

He however reminded the people that his administration will continue to chart the good course of taking Akwa Ibom state to a greater level.

Reception for the event followed immediately at the Ewet Housing Estate F-line park, Uyo.
